Summer Cup
On June 2, 2024, iFLY Minsk will host indoor skydiving competitions among young bodyflyers aged 6 to 18 years. Registration is open until May 20!
This discipline consists of 4 rounds including 2 compulsory routines (45 sec) and 2 free routines (60 sec). Judging criteria are close to the rules of international FAI competitions (World and European Championships). The main difference - competitor can select required elements for 4-7-10 points.
The participants compete in 4 rounds – numbers, speed and 2 identical free routines of 60 seconds duration with musical accompaniment. The participant must select 4 required elements from the 6 proposed.
Competitions are held according to the current rules of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI). Official name of the discipline - Indoor Solo Freestyle. Judging is the same as in European and World Championships.
DISCIPLINES
This discipline is made for young competitors or beginners and consist of 4 rounds – numbers, speed and 2 compulsory routines. Requirements for the participants are the ability to belly-fly and perform the required elements – Scissors, Rock Climber, Belly Carving, Superman, etc.
FREESTYLE PRO
The discipline consists of 4 rounds:
- round №1 - compulsory routine #1 - working time 45" - maximum 10 points;
- round №2 - free routine - working time 60" - maximum 20 points;
- round №3 - compulsory routine #2 - working time 45" - maximum 10 points;
- round №4 - free routine - working time 60" - maximum 20 points;
The winner is the participant with the highest total score for all four rounds.
FREE ROUTINE
Round №2 and №4, working time - 60 seconds.
The participants need to prepare a routine with a duration of 60 seconds, which will allow them to harmoniously and beautifully demonstrate all their skills and show the best elements. The participants may choreograph the routine to a chosen music.
The participants need to submit a video of their free routine filmed from the centre line (facing the judges), WITHOUT music not later than 31.05.2024. Before the start of the competition, the judges will view the submitted videos and determine the initial technical score – a maximum of 10 points.
Scoring is carried out in accordance with the current FAI Indoor Solo Freestyle rules. The final score is the sum of the scores for Execution and Presentation (with a maximum of 20 points):

- Presentation: During the competition, the judges will give a presentation score, which is an evaluation of how aesthetically pleasing the execution is to watch, whether there is a WOW! effect to it, how well the routine is choreographed to the chosen music, whether the entire flight chamber is appropriately used, whether there is a definite beginning and a definite ending, how accurately the working time is used (if the execution lasts less than 58 seconds or more than 62 seconds, the score is decreased). The maximum score is 10 points.

NUMBERS INTER
Round №1, working time - 35 seconds
Blue/red circles with numbers ranging from one to five are glued to the walls of the wind tunnel. The participants need to fly along a predetermined trajectory (e.g., 2-4-3-1-5) by touching the blue numbers in belly-down orientation and the red numbers in back-down orientation. The numbers can be touched with both hand or foot. After touching all five numbers, the sequence is repeated in a circle.
Each correct touch of a number is worth one point. In case of violation of the sequence of numbers (for example, the participant touches the numbers 2-4 and then instead of the number 3 touches the next numbers 1-5), the participant receives a penalty of minus one point.
The participants need to score the maximum number of points during the working time of 30 seconds. The working time begins from the moment both legs of the participant take off from the floor in the pre-flight area. The participant who scores the maximum number of points receives the maximum score of 5 points. The results of all other participants are calculated as a percentage of the winner's result and rounded up to the tenth (for example, if the winner's score is 20 = 5 points, then the participant who scores 15 receives 15/20*5 = 3.7 points)
SPEED INTER
Round №2, working time - unlimited.
Four letters A, B, C and D are glued to the walls of the wind tunnel (A and C along the green line, B and D along the blue line). The participant shall be in the centre of the flight zone at the beginning of the exercise. Working time starts when the participant touches the letter A and ends when the participant touches the letter A for the third time.
The participants need to perform the following sequence of movements two times:
- touch the letter A with the hand in belly-down orientation;
- move to the letter B, touch it in belly-down orientation;
- transit through the legs from belly-down orientation to back-down orientation and touch the letter B again with the foot in back-down orientation, then perform a 360-degree spiral in back-down orientation in any direction and touch the letter B again with the foot in back-down orientation;
- move to the letter C, touch it with the hand in back-down orientation;
- perform a full barrel roll from back to back in any direction, touch the letter C again with the hand in back-down orientation;
- transit through the legs from back-down orientation to belly-down orientation, move to the letter D, touch the letter D with the hand in belly-down orientation;
- perform a 360-degree spiral in belly-down orientation, touch the letter D again;
- move to the letter A, touch the letter A in belly-down orientation.
Any violation of the sequence or incorrect fulfilment of the requirements results in a penalty of three seconds. Execution time is measured to one hundredth of a second. The participant who performs the exercise with the lowest time receives the maximum score of 5 points. The results of all other participants are calculated as a percentage of the winner's result and rounded up to the tenth (for example, if the winner's result is 20 seconds = 5 points, then the participant with the result of 23 seconds receives 20/23*5 = 4.35 points).
FREE ROUTINE
Round №3 and №4, working time - unlimited.
The participants need to prepare and demonstrate their free routine in advance. The free routine shall contain any four compulsory elements out of six options (the elements can be performed in any sequence).

Each participant shall perform a certain combination of elements in a given sequence. The routines of the first and second rounds are different. Video of routine execution shall be viewed by the coaches (use button below).
Each of the elements (except entry and exit) is evaluated using the 10-point scoring system. The total of five scores is summed up and divided by five. If mistakes were made when entering or exiting the wind tunnel, then 0.1-1.0 points shall be deducted from the final score.
The score for each element depends on the stability of body position, maintaining the required orientation and position in the wind tunnel, accuracy of the flight along the required trajectory, absence of touches on the walls and the net of the wind tunnel (except for those elements where it is straightforwardly necessary).

iFLY Ball Battle
All athletes participating in the FREESTYLE INTER and FREESTYLE PRO disciplines are allowed to compete. No advance registration is required. By decision of the organizer, athletes participating in the FREESTYLE START disciplines may be allowed only in the qualification format (single flights) without holding a tournament.
QUALIFICATION
At the beginning, the participant shall be already positioned in the wind tunnel in belly-down orientation. The Safety Instructor launches a ball with a diameter of 8 cm into the wind tunnel, which randomly moves in the air stream. Each participant is given 45 seconds to catch the ball the maximum number of times. The ball is selected in such a way as to correspond as closely as possible to the speed of the participant, which was declared during the speed check. As soon as the ball is caught, the participant needs to show it to the judges and throw it away towards the far wall of the wind tunnel.
If the participant throws the ball into the net or diffuser, they are not awarded a point.
Participants who fail to catch the ball in the allotted 45 seconds do not advance further into the tournament bracket. Among the participants who caught the ball the same number of times, the one who caught the first ball earlier scores higher on the leaderboard.
TOURNAMENT
The number of participants in the tournament is determined by the organizer after the end of the qualification (possible options are 8/16/32 participants). The main part of the competition takes place in the form of an Olympic system tournament (the best compete with the worst). The flow speed is set as the average value between the speed of the two participants, which was declared during the speed check.
In each round (hereinafter referred to as the "battle"), two participants compete. The objective of each participant is to catch the ball the maximum number of times during the working time of 60 seconds (the countdown starts from the moment the Safety Instructor launches the ball). If the score is equal after 60 seconds, then the battle continues until the "Golden Ball" – until one of the participants catches the ball again – to unequivocally determine the winner. Once the battle is over, the judges give a signal to the Driver, red lines light up, signalling to the participants that it is necessary to leave the wind tunnel.
Once the participant catches the ball, they need to show it to the judges. At this moment, the instructor that is controlling the flow rate (hereinafter referred to as the "Driver") pauses the timer. The participant who catches the ball needs to pass it to the Safety Instructor and return to their half of the wind tunnel (in the same manner as in the beginning of the battle). The Safety Instructor launches the ball into the wind tunnel, at which point the Driver restarts the timer.
A ball that was caught in back-down orientation does not count.

TOURNAMENT FINAL
Based on the results of the semi-finals, four participants are determined, who compete for the First and Second, and Third and Fourth place, respectively. Battles are held until one of the participants wins two times. The winner is the participant who won the battle for the First and Second place.
All athletes participating in the FREESTYLE INTER and FREESTYLE PRO disciplines are allowed to compete. No advance registration is required. By decision of the organizer, athletes participating in the FREESTYLE START disciplines may be allowed only in the qualification format (single flights) without holding a tournament.
QUALIFICATION
At the beginning, the participant shall be already positioned in the wind tunnel in belly-down orientation. The Safety Instructor launches a ball with a diameter of 8 cm into the wind tunnel, which randomly moves in the air stream. Each participant is given 45 seconds to catch the ball the maximum number of times. The ball is selected in such a way as to correspond as closely as possible to the speed of the participant, which was declared during the speed check. As soon as the ball is caught, the participant needs to show it to the judges and throw it away towards the far wall of the wind tunnel.
If the participant throws the ball into the net or diffuser, they are not awarded a point.
Participants who fail to catch the ball in the allotted 45 seconds do not advance further into the tournament bracket. Among the participants who caught the ball the same number of times, the one who caught the first ball earlier scores higher on the leaderboard.
TOURNAMENT
The number of participants in the tournament is determined by the organizer after the end of the qualification (possible options are 8/16/32 participants). The main part of the competition takes place in the form of an Olympic system tournament (the best compete with the worst). The flow speed is set as the average value between the speed of the two participants, which was declared during the speed check.
In each round (hereinafter referred to as the "battle"), two participants compete. The objective of each participant is to catch the ball the maximum number of times during the working time of 60 seconds (the countdown starts from the moment the Safety Instructor launches the ball). If the score is equal after 60 seconds, then the battle continues until the "Golden Ball" – until one of the participants catches the ball again – to unequivocally determine the winner. Once the battle is over, the judges give a signal to the Driver, red lines light up, signalling to the participants that it is necessary to leave the wind tunnel.
Once the participant catches the ball, they need to show it to the judges. At this moment, the instructor that is controlling the flow rate (hereinafter referred to as the "Driver") pauses the timer. The participant who catches the ball needs to pass it to the Safety Instructor and return to their half of the wind tunnel (in the same manner as in the beginning of the battle). The Safety Instructor launches the ball into the wind tunnel, at which point the Driver restarts the timer.
A ball that was caught in back-down orientation does not count.

iFLY Ball Battle
A ball is launched inside the wind tunnel, which randomly moves in the air flow. The competitor is to catch the ball the maximum number of times during the working time of 60 seconds. The competition consist of a qualification round and an Olympic system tournament. The tournament consists of knock-out battles with two participants each.
All athletes participating in the FREESTYLE INTER, PRO and OPEN FAI disciplines are allowed to compete. No advance registration is required.

Children from any country aged 6 to 18 years (born in 2006-2018) can take part in the competition.
In the FREESTYLE START category requirements for the participants are the ability to belly-fly independently, enter and exit the wind tunnel.
In the FREESTYLE INTER, PRO, OPEN FAI and iFLY BALL BATTLE categories
requirements for the participants are the ability to belly-fly and back-fly, make transits between these positions, independently enter and exit the wind tunnel, and also perform the necessary compulsory elements in accordance with the rules for the specific category.
In the FREESTYLE START category requirements for the participants are the ability to belly-fly independently, enter and exit the wind tunnel.
In the FREESTYLE INTER, PRO, OPEN FAI and iFLY BALL BATTLE categories

All participants have reserved slots for training time on Friday (31.05.2024) and Saturday (01.06.2024) from 10:00 to 22:00. Once registration is completed, the competition organizer will contact each participant (or coach) to book a time slot.

1. Reservation of time is carried out in the order of submitting an application for participation and only after payment of the participation fee. Rules for booking time for participants:
- until May 19, 2024, each participant has the right to book up to 30 minutes of flight time per day for training;
- from May 20, 2024, the participants could book additional time for training in the order of registration.
2. A special rate will apply for foreign participants in the competition (any number of minutes can be purchased):
- 1 hour - 960 BYN (~270 EUR) (does not include coaching fees).
3. All competition participants can book additional flight time on any day in accordance with the iFLY Minsk work schedule. Training on the day of the competition is prohibited.

The prize-winner of the competition in each of the disciplines will be awarded with medals and diplomas, as well as prizes from the partners of the event. The main main prize – free flight time:
- FREESTYLE START, INTER, PRO, OPEN FAI – 20 minutes for the First place, 15 minutes for the Second place, and 10 minutes for the Third place.
It is possible and necessary to join the event and cheer for the participants – we invite the audience to witness the performances of young bodyflyers! It will be exciting, we promise! The entrance is free of charge, you can watch the performances from the 3rd floor of the shopping centre. The event starts at 10.00.
